For our client, two brothers, beekeeping started as a hobby in their suburban neighborhood. Their love of bees involved more than nurturing the hive; but a reverence for the contribution bees make to the planet. Unknown to many, Honey Bees are in decline due to a condition known as colony collapse disorder. It is a global crisis that, if ignored, could potentially impact the future of humankind.
SUSTAINABILITY WITH A TWIST
The brothers’ philosophy derives from sustainability, with a big emphasis on urban homesteading. Broadly defined, homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. Modern homesteaders often use renewable energy. They plant and grow their own fruits and vegetables and even raise their own livestock. They embrace a set of core values and a way of life that benefits their families and the planet.
So when the two brothers came to Kaleidoscope with a jar of pure liquid gold made by their bees and asked us to package it, we knew we had to do our homework and ask the right questions. Critical steps if we were going to create a breakout story in such a crowded category.
